Huffpost political reporter Sam Stein appeared on The Ed Show Wednesday and weighed in on the nation's high unemployment rate and what it could mean for Democrats in 2010.

Stein told Ed Schultz that Democratic operatives are worried that President Obama underestimated labor problems. The party is worried about what will happen if jobs don't return.
Stein said, "At some point, you got to start thinking about 2010, and we're getting to that point. If people are not back at work, there is an expectation that there could be a wholesale revamping of political power." Tea party protesters aren't just against big government, Stein said. They're also angry because they don't have jobs."

Weighing in on how health care reform could affect 2012 races, Stein said that many of the pollsters he has talked to have said that passing the legislation would help Democrats despite that fact that some the biggest reforms wouldn't begin until 2013.
